LA: Go to Kool A.D.'s Book Release Party on Tuesday

The whole thing starts at 7 PM at the Standard. Entry is free, and a portion of Kool A.D.'s debut novel sales will go to Planned Parenthood.

Just about a year ago, our good buddy and former parenting columnist Kool A.D. dropped a sprawling, 100-song mixtape called O.K., which was meant to serve as the soundtrack to his forthcoming debut novel by the same name.

Over the past year, Kool A.D. has cranked out a staggering amount of new music, but he didn't forget about his promise of a book. O.K. the novel will hit shelves next week, and to celebrate A.D. is throwing a release party at the Standard in Los Angeles on Tuesday night. He'll be reading excerpts from the novel, and his wife, Saba Moeel-Vazquez, Mira Gonzalez, fellow VICE columnist Melissa Broder, and VICELAND's Ayesha Siddiqi will also perform readings. Nite Jewel will DJ.

The party is free, and a portion of the proceeds from book sales will be donated to Planned Parenthood. The whole thing starts at 7 PM. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by and check it out. If you aren't, pre-order a copy of O.K. online here, and check out a new music video from the man himself above.
