We Asked Pro Israeli and Palestinian Protesters how the Gaza Crisis will End

Israel has been bombing Palestinian cities in Gaza since July 8. Blame aside, when will it end?

Israel missiles have been falling on Palestinian cities since July 8. While superficially this is Israel’s effort to quell missile attacks from out of Gaza, the root issue is a sprawling divergence of ideology and perceived entitlement to land, compounded by a long, sad history. That’s an obvious simplification, but the end result is that both sides have been at each other’s throats since Israel was formed, without any relent in sight. So where will this end? Presumably, the latest violence has a foreseeable finish, but how about the conflict in general? To find out we asked protesters from either side to do some future gazing now, and far ahead. Here’s what they said.

It will end with the Messianic redemption of all mankind.

When Hamas has been depleted of firearms, and the leadership is on the run, they will announce a cease fire and then they’ll begin collecting fire arms again for another conflict at a later date.

I think it’s going to stop when Hamas exits Gaza. My opinion is that Israel is protecting the Gazan people from Hamas.

Obviously we want peace, and I think the only way we can reach that is if Hamas disarms. Right now what they’re doing is committing mass genocide. The only way we can have peace is if Hamas recognises Israel as a state and disarms.

When moderate Muslims stand up to their own radicals and realise that their radicals are a great threat to themselves, and the entire world.

As I see it, the messiah is coming soon.

I think we’re heading for the great battle of Armageddon Revelations talks about. I believe Jesus will come back to Israel.

Support for Palestine. Melbourne.

It'll end with the Israeli government destroying the tunnels and bases for Hamas. But in general, I think the conflict won’t continue. International pressure is turning and Israel will be alone.

I think it will end with a non-friendly, inappropriate resolution. And one day I’ll be telling my grandchildren about this area once called Palestine. I think they’ll be wiped out, unfortunately.

It will take time, but it will end with peace. Israel just will finally understand what they’re doing to other people’s lives. They’re just ignorant.

The only option is Palestinian unity and a new uprising that makes it clear to the world that they won’t suffer this oppression. There’s no sin in resistance.

The Muslim countries will come together to end this. Hezbollah from Lebanon already did this in 2006. They’ve spoken about uniting with the resistance in Palestine, which I think will finally get Israel out of Palestine.

I think boycotting is part of the answer and I’m not advocating violence, but people who are being killed in their beds need to fight back.

No justice, no peace. There will never be peace in Israel aslong as it continues to be an apartheid state. Either the violence will be perpetual, or Israel will change.
