If we had to assign our old Garbage Island series a soundtrack (I mean, besides the actual soundtrack we assigned it), it would probably be mostly early Gerry Rafferty solo work with maybe a smidgen of Earth Crisis thrown in for good measure. It would never, ever have occurred to us to ask a French enviro-death metal outfit to compose a theme song specifically tailored to the video's content. Fortunately for us, just such a band caught our blind spot and put together just such an anthem to floating refuse without even bothering us about it. At least we are 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999996% sure that's what the case is. Peep on these lyrics and tell us we're not bugging out here.

Under this heavy sealing concrete waves
Followed by servants, funeral cortege
This pale ghost is gathering his strengthGhost, pale, the procession is crawlingPlastic form dead things it is now so clear
How could I fail to understand
Cities are burning the trees are dying
My heart awake but still
Pain is killing me
Pain is killing meTake this pestilent destruction out of my way
The great pacific garbage patch is exhausting
And the world is sliding away
In a vortex of floating refuse
With the sacred one you have lostPlastic bag in the sea [4x]
