Drake and Lil Baby Deliver Wordplay on New Joint Track “Pikachu”

It’s almost a cliché to say that Drake never lets up: he’s widely understood to be one of the most productive, prolific musicians at a high level in any genre, and it feels like every few weeks (or less) he’s offering up a new track or project, even having basically announced a new record Scorpion, due later this year. As for now, however, he’s jumped on a track with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby. It’s called “Pikachu,” features fun wordplay aplenty, and sees both artists on a sparse, percussion and bass heavy beat.

It’s always interesting to hear Drake on a less poppy or hooky track, and here he makes a good showing, though it’s Lil Baby who ultimately steals the show (his “Cartier glasses, I won’t even peek at you / Yellow Ferrari like Pikachu” lines ensure that). The track, which premiered on Beats 1’s OVO Sound Radio, also follows recent collabs Drake has done with Trouble and BlocBoy JB. Hear it in full above.
