By now, you’ve probably noticed that the artwork for Dylan Michél’s latest EP is pretty gross. When he first sent us the MP3s, we hardly glanced at the artwork, but now that we’ve taken a closer look we feel properly unsettled. The image shows a close-up of some hairy human skin—probably a beard, but we don’t know for sure—with two lovely hands reaching toward the tangled the fur. It’s a particularly interesting cover for an EP titled Touched By An Angel, because it seems to contrast the debased ugliness of the human body with the idea of being touched by something as divine and flawless as an angel—but maybe we’re getting too deep here. In any case, you can transcend your everyday reality by checking out the Australian producer’s record above, and head over to the website for his label This Thing to pay as little or as much as you want to download the tunes.
And hey, if you happen to be in Australia, you can be touched by Michél himself, as he’s got gigs in Sidney on August 14 and 15, and he hits Melbourne on the 16.
