Silly Joel and the Candymen Have Aimed a Diss Track at Bad Dreems

Listen to some West End Bitter beef.

Silly Joel and the Candymen have proven that the diss track is alive and well in Australia with a take down on rockers Bad Dreems.

"Bad Dreems", a track on the hip-hop trio's new album What Part of the Game Is This? takes aim at the Adelaide band and in particular their support of local beer brand West End.

"I didn't think it was cool when my own band repped West End, but it's certainly not cool that your band reps West End," spits MC Fred Soque, in a track that references Bad Dreems use of the West End logo as part of their own.

Although Fred Soque, MC Silly Joel and Rob Feelins are now based in Melbourne, they started in the Adelaide suburb of Keswick in 2011 as an off shoot to some of their indie bands including Bitch Prefect, Peak Twins, and Lindsey Low Hand.

Elsewhere on the track Bad Dreems' musical authenticity is called into question with lines such as, "Your brand's dependent on plagiarising the residents of the culture you claim to reign over like one-percenters".

We look forward to hearing Bad Dreems' response track.
