As we learned back in the Creepy Clown Summer of 2015, there's a whole horde of harlequins out there&#x2014;some hellbent on [terrifying America](https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/nnkzxm/america-is-officially-overrun-by-terrifying-evil-clowns-vgtrn), some who [get drunk and traipse through the woods](https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/7x9y3y/a-terrifying-drunk-clown-was-arrested-with-a-machete-taped-to-his-arm-vgtrn), and others who are just looking to make a living, bummed out that all those killer clowns [gave them a bad name](https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/yvewgw/professional-clowns-explain-how-the-creepy-clowns-are-affecting-business). Now&#x2014;regardless of what sect they belong to&#x2014;there's finally a place for all those clowns to get together.

The Alamo Draft House in Austin, Texas, is hosting a clown-only screening of _IT_, _Variety_ [reports](http://variety.com/2017/film/news/alamo-drafthouse-clown-only-screenings-it-stephen-king-1202538446/). Aside from just watching the movie&#x2014;which, by the way, [looks terrifying](https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/a3dbyb/the-new-it-trailer-gives-us-a-good-look-at-pennywise-and-hes-scary-as-hell-vgtrn)&#x2014;the theater full of clowns will get to participate in a host of fun activities (or nightmarish, depending on your [personal phobias](https://tonic.vice.com/en_us/article/d7bww7/we-asked-scientists-why-clowns-freak-us-the-hell-out)) on Saturday, September 9. The event kicks off with a "Barrel O' Fun" pre-party, where face painters will be "around for 'touch ups,'" some clown-centric prizes will get raffled off, and a photo booth will capture all the red-nosed horror, according to the Alamo Draft House [website](https://drafthouse.com/austin/show/it-clown-screening).

"All attendees should arrive dressed as a clown in order to attend," the website states. "Please arrive in your own Pennywise best and be ready to float with us."

New Line Cinema’s horror thriller “IT,” directed by Andrés Muschietti (“Mama”), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.

When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.  

“IT” stars Bill Skarsgård (“Allegiant,” TV’s “Hemlock Grove”) as the story’s central villain, Pennywise.  An ensemble of young actors also star in the film, including Jaeden Lieberher (“Midnight Special”), Jeremy Ray Taylor (“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip”), Sophia Lillis (“37”), Finn Wolfhard (TV’s “Stranger Things”), Wyatt Oleff (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), Chosen Jacobs (upcoming “Cops and Robbers”), Jack Dylan Grazer (“Tales of Halloween”) and Nicholas Hamilton (“Captain Fantastic”).

Muschietti is directing “IT” from a screenplay adapted by Chase Palmer & Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman.  Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbara Muschietti are producing, with Marty P. Ewing, Doug Davison and Jon Silk serving as executive producers.

The behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Chung-Hoon Chung (“Me and Earl and the Dying Girl”), production designer Claude Paré (“Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), editor Jason Ballantine (“The Great Gatsby”), and costume designer Janie Bryant (TV’s “Mad Men”).

A presentation of New Line Cinema, “IT” will be released worldwide beginning September 8, 2017, by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Entertainment Company.

The latest adaptation of Steven King's 1984 horror novel is directed by Andrés Muschietti. Bill Skarsgård stars as Pennywise, the killer clown who's terrorized a small neighborhood in Maine for centuries, popping up in storm drains, hiding in sewers, and&#x2014;right when our tale picks up&#x2014;has recently claimed the life of a little kid. When the victim's older brother gets wind of what Pennywise has been up to all these years, he bands together with a group of tweens dedicated to driving the clown from their neighborhood once and for all.

It might not sound like the most appealing spectacle for a bunch of clowns to watch a fictionalized version of themselves get hunted down, but in a weird way, huddling together for the screening makes sense. If you're going to swallow some difficult content, you might as well do it in the company of folks who feel your pain&#x2014;or, God forbid&#x2014;cheer Pennywise on alongside your evil, terrifying clown brethren.
