The Knife Released Another Freaky Video: What Does This All MEAN?

The Knife haven't been a thing since 2014, when they said "we have no obligations to continue", before promptly discontinuing. At the time, we thought they meant 'forever', but it turns out they meant 'for three years' because they're back… sort of? Are they?

Last week, they uploaded two videos onto their Facebook page, including this weirdly satisfying clip of a gummy cherry sweet being slowly sliced with a knife, and this "cooking class" where some dude in a mask stabs at jelly and cucumber and donuts and all sorts of shit. So far, so fetishistic.

Anyway, that theme has continued because yesterday they uploaded another video (which you can see below) of someone wearing a little blonde wig and with fabric eyes and mouth sewn onto their face, which is… nice? I had to watch this without sound this morning because I put my headphones in the wash, but I have to say, when I finally heard it with sound, it still wasn't particularly illuminating. Just because I write about music doesn't mean I know things. I know as much as you do. I know nothing. About anything.

As we said last week, lets hope this slow-drip campaign points to new music and a huge comeback tour and not, like, a coffee table book of polaroids from their last tour, or a vinyl re-issue of Deep Cuts, or some sick new merch, or worse, a 'greatest hits' album. Or, you know, nothing at all – just this.
