NEW YORK - THE RETURN OF SOFT FOCUS

After traipsing around Great Britain for the first half of the year and taking a secret trip to the American West Coast (those episodes start with Calvin Johnson around Thanksgiving), Soft Focus is finally coming back to its native New York. Tomorrow, Ian Svenonius takes the train from DC to sit across from Ted Leo and Kathleen Hanna and lead each through the treacherous, byzantine dance of live conversation. This is just the first in a spate of local tapings, so if neither Riot Grrl nor hardcore -turned-pop-punk-turned-basically- just-really-good-guitar-pop-with-an-occasional-smattering- of-radio-comedy(-also-really-good) isn't your thing, keep on the lookout for new guests in the coming weeks. Oh yeah, and in deference to the fact that the Guggenheim Museum is roughly an hour away from where anybody lives, we've moved the show to Cooper Union's Great Hall. That place next to St. Mark's where Lincoln once spoke or something. Click here to RSVP for the taping or below for info on the after party.
