Amongst other endeavors, such as growing scary moustaches, our buddy Rodaidh McDonald runs the excellent Homerton Strangler blog, is half of the duo behind London's best Italo party, Cocadisco, and is house engineer at XL studios. So we figured he was more than qualified to tell you what to like once a week. Take it away, Roadaidh…When I got asked to select some bits of music to write about and stream on here I thought better of just throwing up the most obscure records I own. Instead I thought I'd go a step further than that and only choose things that I recorded myself. To begin with at least. Here is "On n On" by Comanechi, my favorite song from their self-titled debut album, out soon on Merok. The day that we did this record felt like the most unproductive of my life. So many technical things went wrong in the studio and we all left under a real cloud thinking we had nothing. But somehow, I guess a little bit like magic, we found that we had a bunch of great stuff like this. The T-Rex-style chorus "aahhs" were added later by Akiko and I think that they make it one hundred times better. That up there is the LP sleeve, which Akiko designed with Simon Taylor from Klaxons. I think it is a world exclusive.Listen to "On n On":
