This is the Brave New World world, which means it's not weird anymore be into trap, bassline, '90s house, dark techno, and country rap at the same time. (Okay, just kidding. No one should be into country rap.) NEVERMIND is the latest signing to Brooklyn's heavy bass vampire crew Trouble & Bass and their debut mix shows a truly epic range of stylistic chops, from super-hard grime vibes to summery UK garage and ruffneck bassline house. Nearly every track is a big banger—and given that this mix is strictly originals and bootlegs (of everyone from Wiley to Schoolboy Q), we predict big things to come for this L.A.-based duo.
NEVERMIND is made up of Grenier (aka DJG), who has released deep dubstep on Tectonic and Transistor and 4x4 sounds on Salva's Frite Nite, as well as producing the latest Archie Pelago album; and Petey Clicks, who has broken away from his Clicks & Whistles duo and is currently pumping out some quality UK-style house for AC Slater's Party Like Us label. The duo's debut release, Part One, is out on Trouble & Bass on July 29, with a second EP forthcoming late August. And if you happen to be in NYC August 16, the dudes will be touching down at Verboten in Brooklyn alongside DJ EZ. Reeeeeewind!
