Röyksopp Announce Their Final Album

Don't worry! The endlessly influential Norwegian duo are not breaking up.

Influential Norwegian duo Röyksopp will release their fifth and final album, The Inevitable End on November 11th via Cherrytree Records/Interscope. According to Röyksopp's Svein Berge, this album will be a farewell to the format as opposed to the band itself, and will feature much "darker subject matter, with emphasis on the lyrical content…We feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format."

Revealed today, the first track of the album "Skulls" sports that darker tone.

Röyksopp's prior release, only a mere six months ago, was the Do It Again EP with Robyn. It was notable in that it was both acts' first number one charter on Billboard's Dance/Electronic albums. Despite being finished with the "traditional album format," the duo has promised that they will not stop making music, but will rather continue working on more experimental forms of release.

The Creator's Project premiered Robyn and Röyksopp's video for "Monument":

The Inevitable End will feature Jamie Irrepressible, Ryan James (Man Without Country), Norwegian singer songwriter Susanne Sundfør and Robyn.
