Shanghai Den Might Scare Everyone On The Dance Floor

R&S's latest release would probably be quite a trip to hear on a massive sound system, but it's probably a nightmare to mix. "Vale W Group Bench," the b-side from Shanghai Den's first record, has a lot of moving parts: an irregular kick drum sputters between growling basslines and lurching synth stabs, and all of it is warped by incessant filter effects. There's no solid information about the producer available, besides his previous collaboration with New Yorker FaltyDL—although the Shanghai Den SoundCloud does suggest the project is based out of Cyprus. We're skeptical, but at least we're sure about the release date of the outfit's two-track EP on R&S: July 1.
