Guido Tamino wants you to send him things to print. Whatever you want. An image that means something to you, an image that means nothing to you. An image of you. Whatever. Just send it to him over the internet and he’ll print it out on his printer. You fill out a form with some details, an image, and a short message and it’ll be printed in real-time, and appear in the gallery on the project’s website, eventually appearing in a crowd-sourced book. It’s an interesting project in a number of ways: he’s using the immediacy of the web to allow people to share random thoughts or ideas, allowing for instant (and anonymous, if you wish) participation. Plus you get the satisfaction of seeing the fruit of your momentary labour almost instantaneously while contributing to the project as a whole. And it’s taking something that exists virtually and giving it physicality, the common inkjet printer becoming a portal for birthing your message into the world in a random, simple, expressive, and fun way. Go forth and send him something here.
