At Last, a Video Game You Can Play with Your Butt

This kegel app relies on the perineum and reckons it can even make men better at sex.

Last month we reported on a nifty little invention called Elvie, a device that’s inserted into the vagina and synced with an app to guide women through kegel exercises. To any dude who thought, “Niiiiiice, I wouldn’t mind a portable product to assist with strengthening my pelvic floor muscles, too” your prayers have been answered.

Elvie is described as "the video game your vagina plays" so it’s comparable to say that kGoal Boost is the video game your perineum plays (that’s the bit between the anus and scrotum, FYI). It’s possibly not as gross as it sounds. The device is an air-filled cushion, reminiscent of a bike seat crossed with a gel mouse pad. You simply sit on it and when you compress your pelvic muscles, your perineum bulges, like flexing a bicep. The cushion measures the size of your bulge and sends that data to the app, which provides real-time feedback. There’s no need to be naked, but whatever works for you. The app features guided five-minute workouts and a series of games (all controlled by your pelvic floor muscles), and it tracks performance and sets goals.

So why would you want to use this thing? No different to women, kegel exercises are thought to assist men with bladder control and core strength, but—as kGoal Boost are eager to point out—they also have benefits when it comes to the bedroom. Basically, kGoal Boost reckons it can make you better at sex. Orgasm quality and control, erection performance, and increased sensation are all listed as improvements through doing kegels. Apparently regular exercise down there can also improve the sex for whoever you’re having the sex with. “At then end of the day, kegel exercises should be your go-to for improving sexual health,” says a clinical professor in the promotional video, “So do it for yourself, or do it for your partner.”

The product was developed by San Francisco-based startup company Minna Life (who have already produced a female kegel trainer), and is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
