FOMO vs The War on Drugs | Monday Insta Illustrator

UK-based illustrator Matt Blease compresses satisfying thoughts and ideas into simple, surreal drawings. You may have seen his interpretation of the War on Drugs as a marijuana leaf armed with a rifle saying, “Bring it on,” which did the Instagram rounds on 4/20, but look deeper on his Instagram profile for concepts like an elegant summation of the work/life balance, an animated rendition of FOMO, commentary on corporate culture, puns on puns on puns, and zany invention ideas like “glasses for lovers.” His imagination and wit provide relief from the stress of it no longer being the weekend.

Blease studied graphic design, and has done commissioned work for a bunch of big corporate brands, but is currently focusing on independent illustration. Check out some of our favorite drawings in the Instagrams below.
