Judging by the sound of the first cut from Future Punx’s Dull Tools debut, they are quite literally trying to make right on their moniker. The self-described “post-wave” is equally hinged on pop-minded, Devo-like synths and the urgent speed of contemporary post-punk. With that in mind, the single “Ever You Go” and its accompanying video evoke a curious nostalgia, like remembering something that hasn’t happened yet. It’s definitely a trip, but to where or when we’re not so sure.
