Hello, my name is Dylan Hughes. I like Evian, smoking weed and listening to black metal. Sometimes I play in a band called Shitting Fists. We play something that, as far as I know, we invented called unholy gash metal. Anyway, I've been asked to supply a track every week for you of grim stuff so lets start with some Faustcoven.Faustcoven do the whole doom/bm thing better than most and this one is entitled "Whiskey Demon". It is taken from last years Rising From Below The Earth and I got tipped off on this by Fenriz on his MySpace blog. He says: "I very seldomly like black metal after 1993, so this was a surprise to me. It gives me a very real black metal feeling, timeless like it could be from 80's or 90's or 00's it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't sound like the 10,000th band covering the standard 90's styles''.So there you have it. It's doomier than I'd anticipated but sounds pretty original and kind of like how you wished Candlemass sounded but never quite do. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Candlemass as much as the next guy but we all know that the vocals are a bit too Pavarotti to take anywhere near seriously. This track strikes that doom chord with a lot more resonance for me.Listen:DYLAN HUGHES
