AUSTRALIA & NZ - MORE CD REVIEWS

As we mentioned earlier, the Brazil and Photo issues have meant that our music reviewers have had to stick a cork in whichever orifices their nasty opinions generally spew from until August. In order to relieve their discomfort and give them back a little sense of purpose, we're temporarily posting all reviews right here on the blog. Enjoy.

You will like this if you wear flannel shirts and eat Pitchfork Media's shit on a daily basis. I'm not hating, just pointing out the facts. If you jizzed to Wavves then you will most likely jizz to this.
If you didn't like Wavves because it tested your lo-fi threshold too much, drink some purple lean and then put this on at half-speed.

PONY UP

Stay Gold
Inertia

This is what Diablo Cody’s band would sound like. If you’re wondering who should be most insulted by that opening statement, the answer is me because I’m the fucker who had to listen to this used maxi pad of a record.
But, if you happened to like Juno, and if incredibly earnest indie folk that’s badly played happens to be your thing, Pony Up could be right up your alley. (Along with female fists and double-ended dildos.)

Between writing songs for the Jonas Brothers, Adam Schlesinger (ex Fountains of Wayne) has managed to drag the drummer from Cheap Trick and the fresh faced middle Hanson down into his venal black hole of mediocre schlock jock rock. James Iha is also in this shitty band but he should know better and the fact that he joined anyway makes me feel like he deserves to be.
I feel worst for the Hanson boy. Bad enough his voice never dropped. Now he has to suffer the embarrassment of being the focal point of someone else's depressing mid life crisis. As for how it sounds, well, it's not actually that bad. It's just pointless.
