Oh, buddy. Just when you thought Old Man Conductor was hitting the air brakes on the Pulisic Hype Train, he just adds a whole cart of coal to the thing, ramping it up even higher. Yes, the young American—who turns 18 tomorrow—got his start today in the Bundesliga, and found himself at the end of some bad clearance, and capitalized like no other.

To say it's been a good couple of weeks for Pulisic is an understatement, as the Hershey, Pennsylvania native also got the start in his first ever Champions League match three days ago—as the youngest Dortmund player to do so ever—and hammered out two goals and two assists in US's World Cup Qualifying matches against St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago.

Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel all but said after his successful appearances with the national team, 'let's put this in perspective—this kid isn't going to be starting for my team,' by actually saying:

"Those were games against St. Vincent and Trinidad. And if you play against Trinidad, it's not like you have the right to play Bayern in the Super Cup. And he's aware of it. It's difficult enough to cope with all the praise and distraction and to remain open for the normal processes."

But, as Tuchel said there were no guarantees, he also made way for there being no guarantees for his non-guarantees, and so here we are. A Pulisic goal in his first Bundesliga start this season—his third for the side on the whole. Toot-toot!

UPDATE:

Oh, yeah. You can add two assists to that tally as well, putting Dortmund at 6-0 against Darmstadt. Woof.
