Tom Brady's Dad Goes Off on Radio Host, Calls Goodell a "Flaming Liar"

A radio host in San Francisco went in on Tom Brady. So Tom Brady's dad called in the show and went in on the host, the NFL, and Roger Goodell.

Yesterday afternoon Chip Franklin, a sports talk radio host in San Francisco, was trashing Tom Brady and his role in the single dumbest controversy in the history of sports, and called the NFL golden boy a liar and a "cheater and a bad sport and a big freakin' baby." Amazingly, this all happened during an absolutely preposterous hypothetical discussion about who you would rather have on your team: Tom Brady or Tim Tebow. This prompted Tom Brady, Sr. to call into the show to defend his son.

The elder Brady took Franklin to task for swallowing wholesale the NFL's arguments while ignoring the fact that his son was the only person to testify under oath during this whole ordeal and then went nuclear on Roger Goodell. "He lied in the Ray Rice case. He lied in this case, he has lied in the Peterson case… How many times do you need to know that this guy is a flaming liar?"

Each step of the way Franklin's response is "that's not what the NFL says," which—apart from Tom Brady's dad calling a radio show to defend his son—is the most adorable thing I've ever heard.

Brady, Sr. is fired up, but I'm glad he called this clown out, because now so many people are going to hear this guy's show, including his own bosses at the station. Maybe they can explain how a dude paid to talk about sports on the radio is making the argument that he would take Tim Tebow over Tom Brady. To play quarterback. On a football team. Professionally.
