We’re not sure what it is about graffiti that has captured the imaginations of artists and designers everywhere—maybe it’s the subversive nature of the medium, or maybe it’s just that they’re all children of the 80s—but it seems that some of the most interesting marriages of art and technology we’ve seen lately tend to revolve around digital graffiti. Although Creator James Powderly and the Graffiti Research Labs team are certainly spearheading much of this graffiti-inspired innovation, they are by no means the only ones. Above is a video from another artist working with 3D graffiti, Graffiti Technica, whose work we recently discovered on Vimeo. Similar to GRL, Graffiti Technica’s work focuses on bringing digital graffiti into real-world environments — eliminating the destructive nature of the medium, but preserving its artistic expression.
