You don't have to regularly rub shoulders with the likes of David Axelrod to know that trying to get elected as the Leader of the Free World is a damn tough prospect. Your unseemly and undying [zeal for condensed cream of mushroom soup](http://Hillary Clinton Tried Boba for the First Time and Called It 'Chewy Tea' Did Hillary Clinton Really Just Call Boba 'Chewy Tea'? Hillary Clinton Just Tried Boba Tea for the First Time and Called It 'Chewy' Hillary Clinton Sets the Internet Ablaze by Calling Boba 'Chewy Tea') will be called into question. Seeking voter approval will compel you to parade around a bunch of steak from a company that doesn't actually exist anymore. Hell, you might even be forced to stuff yourself with ungodly amounts of capicolo to prove you aren't in fact unfit for the job.
And now, in an attempt to ingratiate herself with New York City's massive Asian-American community, former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton took time before the primaries this Tuesday to have a delicious cup of boba tea in Queens.
For those who of you who might not sleep atop a bed made of grass jelly, boba or bubble tea is a Taiwanese tea-and-milk-based drink containing tapioca balls. The drink is wildly popular throughout Asia and parts of America and was invented in the 80s in Taichung, a former colony and the industrial powerhouse of modern Taiwan.
On her campaign trail through the boroughs of New York City, Clinton stopped by Kung Fu Tea in downtown Flushing, Queens. That's the location of a Chinatown that has more Asian residents than what is typically known as "Chinatown" in Manhattan (Brooklyn's Sunset Park Chinatown has the most of the three areas).
At Kung Fu Tea, Clinton was served the tapioca-filled drink as journalists watched. She took a sip and certainly seemed to like it: "Oh, thats good!" she said. Then she intoned, "I love a milky tea," as if she were having elevenses with the Queen—not chugging boba in Queens. But her remark that is taking the internet by storm is this: "I've never had chewy tea before!"
Lets just say not everyone was happy with the characterization.
I was already hella done w white people calling boba "bubble tea," but now you got @HillaryClinton calling boba "chewy tea" lmao GIRL BYE

Well, then. Should Clinton become our next president, boba shall be deemed "chewy tea" henceforth. Let's just hope none of Hillary's aides accidently leaves some of that newfangled mizu shingen mochi lying around the office.
