WHAT'S THE DEAL THO:
Slap & Tickle is a weekly house and techno party that began a year and a half ago as an outlet for resident DJs to play music that was slipping under the radar in Miami's mainstream party scene. Now, with its loyal fan base, the party can book international talent that may otherwise not have a Miami market.
UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS:
"We had Flume play our party during the Winter Music Conference this year and I saw that he said it was his favorite spot on his tour. The positive vibes are so strong all night—people leave smiling and usually sweaty."
Miami is known for being lavish and tacky. I said it. I have been denied from parties there because I don't look like a Kardashian. But, Gotta Dance Dirty founding member Troy Kurtz started something a year and a half ago that's a lot more real than some of the boobs you may see around town. The party books smart and sexy deep house and techno selectors and the crowd goes nuts for it. They don't kick anyone off the dancefloor until 5AM and there are no rules or regulations, "leading all the guests through a choose-your-own-adventure." Growing completely organically, Slap & Tickle had no promoters aside from its resident DJs.The votes are in and there's a 100% chance you'll walk in on someone having sex in the bathroom at Slap & Tickle. If you can't make it down for the madness in person, make sure to frequent the Slap & Tickle podcast series over on their Souncloud page.
