Austra Announces New Album 'Future Politics,' Shares "Utopia" Video

The Toronto synth-pop outfit's third record comes out Jan. 20

Toronto synth-pop outfit Austra have announced the details of their third album, Future Politics, out Jan. 20 on Domino, and shared a music video for the first single "Utopia."

According to a press release, the record was inspired by frontwoman Katie Stelmanis' time living in Mexico City and Montreal, as well as European artists including Objekt, Peter Van Hoesen, Lena Willikens, and Massive Attack. It's Austra's first album since 2013's Olympia, which was a long list nominee for the 2014 Polaris Music Prize.
