Seriously, what the hell is going on here? Decide for yourself:In Les Horlogers ('the Clockmakers'), a new animated short by Renaud Hallée for the National Film Board of Canada, we lurch, tumble, and fall through some sort of weird, triangular latticework in the Great Gear of Time. "In this whirling, hypnotic world," the animators write, "dozens of tiny gymnasts leap, somersault and twist through the air. Their spirited acrobatics trigger both narrative and musical sequences that are mesmerizing and, at times, dizzying."Eventually we end up bouncing around the piece's focal point, a clinically Red Triangle.
