Satellite-U wants you to “feel the outer space closer.” By that, the Japanese jewelry company means that they hope you'll hang their interstellar baubles from your earlobes and around your neck. In celebration of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency's (JAXA) successful launch of the Hayabusa2asteroid explorer earlier this month, the newly established brand has launched their own probes in the form of satellite-inspired accessories.

Satellite-U was created as a collaboration between Nippon Television Service Inc. and Mujuryoku Inc. Under the banner of JAXA’s own ‘space brand,’ COSMODE, a selection of sterling silver satellite pins, pendant heads, and earrings modelled after JAXA’s Hayabusa2 and ALOS-2, have been released. To further connect the wearer to these fashionable spacecrafts, Satellite-U also features an augmented reality app which tracks the locations of both satellites. The app provides the wearer with a computer graphic of the exact location on Earth that the craft is flying over; all it takes is a smartphone, a quick scan of your Satellite-U accessory, and your ears will be orbital.
