Auckland: VICE NZ is Partying All Week Long and You're Invited

Here's what's on this week.

If you're looking for a party this week we basically have you covered—VICE NZ is hosting events Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. If you're in Auckland, come along for a beverage.

Tuesday's art night, with the continuation of our late-night series with Auckland Art Gallery. For that night we'll have exclusive run of the gallery: get up close and personal with The Body Laid Bare: Masterpieces from Tate, and raid the pop-up bar during a special DJ set from k2k and Hugo Jay. You can get your tickets here or on the door—which covers entry to the exhibition. If you're looking to get into the mood early, k2k and Hugo Jay have created an exclusive mix to celebrate. This is our final open-late event at the gallery, so it's your last chance to get there.

Then on Wednesday we're launching the premiere of new VICELAND show JUNGLETOWN—where a gaggle of idealistic millennials are sent to the Panamanian jungle to build a sustainable village and ideal society. We're collabing with Garage Project Beer and Wise Boy Vegan Burgers, so come along, have a beer and watch some young hippy dreams crumble. The screening is at HOLM on K Road. It's free entry, but you'll need to RSVP here to get on the list.

On Thursday we're intensely excited to be launching ICELAND, the debut novel of rapper-turned-poet Dominic Hoey, also known as Tourettes. Dominic will be reading, and we'll also have sets from the Dirt Bag DJs. Once again it's free entry with an RSVP. The novel follows two protagonists in the Auckland suburb of Grey Lynn, and looks at the reality of a generation trying to find their place in a city being reshaped beneath their feet.

If a week of this leaves you all tuckered out for the weekend, you can always veg out and tune into some more VICELAND, on SKY TV Channel 13.
