It sure does seem like people behave worse in hot weather, and with summer just around the corner, things aren’t boding well for our sanity. The link between elevated aggression and temperatures gets animated in a new short film about feuding roommates living out a summer heat wave in their New York apartment. Roommates is the latest from Jamie Wolfe, an LA-based artist and animator best-known for her rhythmic, GIF-based illustrations. The three-minute piece tells a story of meltdowns provoked by the heat and is told through unique characters who are, quite literally, melting. Roommates was made as part of Wolfe’s graduate program at CalArts where she studies experimental animation. Watch the animation in its entirety below:
