Last year, Montreal indie rock institution Wolf Parade put out a damn good EP that marked their recorded return after many solo projects from co-leaders Dan Boeckner and Spencer Krug. Turns out that comeback is now 110 percent official with the announcement of a new album called Cry Cry Cry, out October 6. It’s Wolf Parade’s first full-length since the hard-driving Expo 86 back in 2010.
The first single’s called “Valley Boy” and sweet lordy does it slap. It also references the late, great Leonard Cohen with its mention of a “bird on a wire.” Montreal remembers its own heroes. You can watch the song’s video above.
