Dismaland, Banksy’s Bemusement Park, has reared its head as the street artist’s latest and greatest sardonic art piece. The interactive installation opens today at Weston-Super-Mare, England, a beachside town near Banksy’s hometown of Bristol. In a firsthand video from Channel 4, you can see the Princess Di-esque scene of Cinderella’s crashed carriage, the devastatingly underwhelmed employees holding black balloons declaring “I’m An Imbecile,” and an indignant reporter become frustrated with a mini-golf trap that eats his golf ball. Dismal indeed.
Banksy’s Dismaland theme park opens today. Krishnan Guru Murthy went to have an early nose around the bizarre and dystopian “bemusement park”.
