After identifying 50 “persons of interest”, police have ultimately given up on finding the “Putney pusher” – the jogger who was caught on CCTV pushing a woman into an oncoming bus, before running off as if he’d done absolutely nothing wrong.
The famous push took place on Putney Bridge at 7:40AM on the 5th of May, 2017, but police only publicised video and images of the incident in August, sparking outrage from the public.

Video of the push, caught on CCTV, shows the driver of the 403 bus, Olivier Salbris, swerving to miss the 33-year-old victim, who was left with minor injuries. Fifteen minutes later, the pusher brazenly runs back over the bridge in the opposite direction.
The Metropolitan Police launched a manhunt to find the pusher, and investigated 50 people in the process, but say none of their interviews proved fruitful.
A spokesman for Met said: “Officers looked at over 50 people of interest during the course of the investigation; all of them were researched, reviewed and eventually eliminated. The matter was investigated fully with all reasonable lines of enquiry completed. As a suspect has not been identified, and as all lines of enquiry have now been exhausted, the investigation has been closed. Should any new information come to light, this will be explored.”
Predictably, social media users are not happy with this news, with the general consensus being: “If you can find a murderer 30 years after the crime, surely you can find a guy from a video.”
