A few pro sports teams have submitted entries in the “mannequin challenge,” a viral video activity started recently by high-school students in which a group is filmed while it collectively freezes in place for a few moments. Sometimes music is added. The challenge is to be more creative than the previous upload—or to at least not embarrass yourself. Well, some make for better mannequins than others, and the Dallas Cowboys players entry appears to be one of the better ones. It includes Tony Romo being stuffed into an overhead luggage bin during their team flight Sunday. Funny! Clever. Cool. The Bills, Giants, Steelers, and others have made videos too. Quality ranges, but it’s clear that an effort was made.
Executives for the Cowboys, who apparently fly on their own private jet (because Jerry Jones, of course), also did a mannequin challenge. It’s them sharing pizza and a beer, and as you can see above, it stinks. No funny looks on the faces. No innovative poses. No music, not even a country song to drown out the engines. Just straight-up palsy. Also: everybody looking like Jerry Jones, while it can’t be helped, is kind of creepy. And this shot:

“Here, Jerry, let me hold this plate for you while you eat your crappy pizza”? Is that something his wife really does for him? Hold your own damn plate, Jerry. Also, for the last damn time: Stop filming in portrait mode! Landscape that son of a gun!
This wouldn’t have happened if ownership flew with the hired help. Cowboys brass should have left it up to the Boys:
Look at Romo! Oh, anyway. If the Cowboys players want to stuff Jerry into a locker for the team’s next mannequin challenge entry, it’s about the only way Jones can be redeemed.
