We Interviewed Bob Katter

We’ve all heard Bob Katter’s views on marriage equality, but where does he stand on other issues? We spoke to the leader of Katter’s Australian Party about immigration, nincompoop candidates, and his plan for making life fun again for young people...

Bob Katter, leader of the Katter’s Australian Party, wants to make life fun again for Australia’s youth. His plan for achieving this includes abolishing homework for kids up to the age of 13 and scaling back what he sees as a wowser-ish preoccupation with alcohol, guns, cigarettes and STD control. He also wants to empower indigenous communities and repeal the 457 visa, so once you’re done having a blast, you can get a high-earning job in the mines then go back to the city and chase some sheilas.

It's a pretty blokey attitude that may not be particularly appealing to some people (like sheilas, poofs, lezzos, cripples, reffos, and anyone who values learning). Regardless of what we all think, it's quite possible that Bob Katter and his band of mavericks could hold the balance of power in Government in a few weeks. And despite his somewhat old-fashioned ideas, he's a pretty nice bloke.
