This concrete UFO was actually built in the 70s as a waiting room to an underground brothel below. This was back in the days when guys outnumbered girls 400 to one. It’s more like 40 to one now so we figured they still might want to keep it open but if there are still working ladies in town, they’re not working here.

This is the local drive in where they show a film every fortnight. The next film scheduled is calledOpal Dreamand it was shot in Coober Pedy with Vince Colosimo and Jacqueline McKenzie. It’s kind of too bad if you are into good films and live in this town.

This is the underground lounge room of a couple we met in a part of CP called Potch Gully. Potch is the colourless opal that the houses are dug out of. The places here are fancier than most so locals refer to it as Posh Gully.
