We know St. Patrick's day is all about middle-aged dads calling in sick to work so they can barf on 5th Ave before noon, but one thing we've always thought is wouldn't it be nice if it was more about kisses? Not rape-tinged "Kiss Me I'm Irish" drunk-dad kisses through cracked, vomit-glazed lips.We mean more sweet candy kisses, like the kind some little Walter Keane girl would give her boyfriend for making her a mixtape with a bunch of Sarah Records bands on it. Or one of those naked "Love Is…" sluts. You know. Cute mixtape kisses--wouldn't that be a much better holiday than stepping over streams of green-tinted beerpiss at 1:15 in the afternoon? We thought so. So we got that band Kisses to make us a mixtape. Here it goes.KISSES - THE VICE MIXTAPE[audio:http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/music/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/vice-mixtape.mp3]1. Arthur Russell - "I Like You!"
Arthur Russell delivers with another amazing beat and melody.
2. The Tough Alliance - "Neo-Violence"
Our band is split on this song. I love it and Zinzi has mixed feelings. I think the production is amazing.
3. Whitney Houston - "How Will I Know?"
Whitney never gets her question answered, but no matter, this is great to dance to.
4. Cerrone- "Midnite Lady"
Cuts a darker groove while still keeping you on the dance floor. There's an amazing rhodes line on this track.
5. The Jets - "Crush On You"
13-year-olds crushin hard; it doesn't get any better than this.
6. Giorgio Moroder - "Lost Angeles"
One of the shorter grooves on From Here to Eternity, this track has an awesome female vocal hook.
7. Air France - "Beach Party"
An extremely beautiful and tender track, these guys are making some of the most heartbreaking music out now.
8. Grace Jones - "Nightclubbing"
Although harder to dance to than "Pull up to the Bumper", "Nightclubbing" is a slick and powerful song.
9. Lindstrom & Christabelle - "Baby Can't Stop"
Baby, I can't stop listening to this one!
10 Sorcerer - "Chemise"
One of my favorite tracks on Sorcerer's new record, Neon Leon, Chemise is super slick and has a killer handclap sample on it.KISSES - "BERMUDA"[audio:http://viceland-assets-cdn.vice.com/music/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/kissesbermuda.mp3]JOEL WRIGHT
