Jibbing is snowboard speak for doing skateboarding-inspired tricks, like sliding on obstacles. The first mention of it came during a 1989 interview with pro snowboarder Nick Perata, and the Nixon Jibfest started in 2000 as an invite-only event. In this show, we jump back to the early 90s and talk to some of the riders who pioneered jibbing on picnic tables and street rails before hanging out at the biggest Nixon Jibfest as it makes its comeback from an eight-year hiatus. With a bigger circle rail circumference, an improved S-rail, and a game that may or may not be called “wheel of death,” this so-called anti-competition has it all. So, as we said before, “Dudes are just stoked.”
