Philip Bader’s “Julia” Reflects His Explorative Approach to Production

The Berlin native makes a strong solo debut for Davide Squillace's boundary-pushing This And That imprint.

Having recently collaborated for "14,000 KM Away," Berlin's Philip Bader now makes his solo debut for Davide Squillace's boundary pushing This And That imprint with Funkey Feeling, set for release on December 22.

The title track is a perfect combination of driving beats and snapping high-hats, showcasing Bader's technically proficient production.

This And That has a clear focus on combining the worlds of art, culture and music, which ultimately provides a perfect platform for the deep, techno sound of Funkey Feeling. The EP's artwork was even specifically commissioned from an Angolean artist and photographer Kiluanji Kia Henda, whose work aims to draw attention to issues of race, power dynamics and global relations.

With his steady output of releases on esteemed labels such as Get Physical, Saved and Moon Harbour, this latest single by Philip Bader is a direct reflection of his explorative approach to production. Since receiving widespread support from the likes of Santé, Anja Schneider, Pirupa and many more, Funkey Feeling promises to take Philip into 2015 with strong ammunition for the dancefloor.
