Middle Tennessee's Upset Over Michigan State Was So Big, It Broke the Net

And all of a sudden, no one's bracket was perfect.

Prepare to see red streaks across your brackets because your take-all favorite for the tournament, the No. 2 seeded Michigan State, just dropped out in a jaw-dropping upset at the hands of Middle Tennessee. So much so, that it even ripped up Michigan State's net. It's practically a metaphor.

People were squawking after the Spartans were denied a No. 1 seeding, saying that Michigan State was snubbed due to their high potential to be prom king of the Big Dance. But now it looks like Middle Tennessee were the ones who were snubbed for being ranked at 15. They played out of their minds today. If you need to know when the tide officially turned, it was most certainly at this moment:

A nasty team-ball dunk with an and-1 to put you up seven points with 39 seconds left? Yup. That'll do it.

The whole wonky-net situation got spotted shortly after—on the opposite end of the court—as if it was fate's way of saying nuh-uh. No more buckets for you, Michigan State. And so it went. Let's hope you've got some more red ink left in your pen to strike out your other terrible bracket choices. Yikes.
