Light & Stencil Animation

A dog in the city.

UK-based artist Pahnl has created a different type of street art, ditching the spray cans and instead using a combination of light and stencils (200 of them) with long exposure photography. His animation Nowhere Near Here tells the story of a dog running around the city, urinating, and chasing cats and birds made from light…all the usual stuff. Filmed on the mean streets of Oxford in England, it took over 300 hours to make all the while avoiding drunks, thieves, the suspicious eye of the law.

As well as that charming animation of light and dog, he also made the video below, Aerosol Amoeba, showing 144 hours of spray painted motion, all condensed down into a kaleidoscopic four minutes of wonder.
