Mark E's Remix of Himself Made Us Do the Sad Dance

His "Sadness of Yesterday" remix made us frown AND get down.

While we're still reeling from Mark E's hypnotic remix of Royksopp and Robyn's "Monument," released a couple months ago, the Birmingham-based house music provocateur has been busy, not only digging up his track "We Could Love," but remixing it with his "Mark E Sadness of Yesterday" perspective.

The tune is a frothy 'lil house number with a bouncy bassline, pitter-patter hi-hats and some pretty depressive musings spoken softly on top. It made us frown and get down simultaneously.

The release comes about as part of Needwant: 5 Years, a celebration of the weirdo-house label's output over the past half decade. Elsewhere on the release are tracks by Kim Ann Foxman and Robert Owens – A whole double-disc's worth of left-field house, disco, and techno.
