The Unsound Festival, dedicated to “advanced” music, swarms New York City this week with a cacophony of unlikely sounds generated by some of the most notable of the world’s cutting edge musicians. Steve Reich, Brian Eno, Ben Frost, and Lustmord are on the agenda. And a few Motherboard alums have a not-insignificant presence too:
- Tonight: our old pal Morton Subotnick, pictured above, will be twisting knobs, revisiting his landmark 1967 debut recording, “Silver Apples of the Moon,” accompanied by video artist Lillevan. See our studio visit with Subotnick here. (04/07/11 at 7:30 PM at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Cernter. Free.)
