Nerd-vana has arrived for us sci-fi geeks whose favorite part of Disneyland has always been either Star Tours or Space Mountain. The CEO of Walt Disney Company has announced that entire Star Wars-themed lands will come to Los Angeles' Disneyland and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.Fresh off his announcement of TRON attractions at Disneyland Shanghai, Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger made the announcement on Saturday at the D23 EXPO 2015. In what will undoubtedly be Disney’s largest expansion for a single-themed area ever, fans will get to enjoy 14 acres of interstellar trading ports, a never-before-seen planet, and an outpost on the border of wild space where we're hoping to find the most wretched hive of scum villainy Disneyland has ever seen. Oh, and you'll be able to pilot Han Solo's red-hot bucket of bolt's itslef, the Millennium Falcon.

“Through each new attraction and new land we create, we push the boundaries of what is possible," Iger said at the D23 EXPO. "And as you can imagine, with Star Wars, we are taking that to a whole new level, with a whole galaxy to explore.” The announcement comes at peak Star Wars fan gurgling, as Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters December 18 (just 122 days!), fan videos are buzzing around the internet like flies, and each new trailer release becomes a major cultural event.Construction is slated for 2017, right around the same time Star Wars Episode VIII comes out, and with Episode IX and multiple spinoffs planned for the foreseeable future, the galaxy far, far away is getting a whole lot closer.
