New Goal Celebration: Jump Through Giant Hole In Field, Vanish

Joel vanished through a giant hole in the field during his goal celebration.

Coritiba beat São Paulo 3-1 last night in Brazil's Serie A and Cameroonian striker Joel scored two for the winning side. After sealing the win with his second goal, Joel did something we've seen time and again in goal celebrations—he jumped over the ad barriers on his way to exhort the crowd—followed by something we've never seen: he jumped right through a damn hole on the other side.

There are apparently stairs behind the goal at Couto Pereira stadium and these particular stairs were covered up with a flag, like some kind of bear trap covered in dead leaves. Joel had no idea and when security noticed what was about to happen, they tried to stop him but it was too late. The universal face-palming that goes on after Joel disappears might actually be funnier than the disappearance itself.

(Don't worry, he was OK and finished the game.)
