Martin C. Pariseau has won the 2017 Prism Prize for his music video for Kaytranada’s “Lite Spots.”
At a ceremony in Toronto Sunday night, the director took home the award and $15,000 cash prize, given to the best Canadian video of the year as decided by a jury based on “originality, creativity, style, innovation, and effective execution.” Other shortlist nominees included Grimes, BADBADNOTGOOD, A Tribe Called Red, and Harrison.
In other Kaytranada news, he made a guest appearance on Pharrell’s Beats 1 show OTHERtone this weekend, where he played new music (including Chance the Rapper’s “And They Say,” which was teased last year) and discussed potentially doing a Haitian-inspired collaborative EP.
