Baltimore Ravens cornerback Tray Walker died today after being hospitalized overnight, according to Baltimore Sun reporter Jeff Zrebiec. He was listed as critically injured after his dirt bike crashed into a Ford Escapade at 7:50 PM in Northwest Miami last night. He underwent lengthy surgery after sustaining serious head injuries, but passed away at 5 PM today. He was 23 years old.

Walker, a Miami native, only played eight games, but saw his rookie season as instrumental to his budding career.

"It was just a learning step for me," Walker said in early January. "There was a lot for me to learn and accomplish throughout the season, adjusting to the length of the season as well as studying the game. At some points, it was [frustrating]. But I just used that as an edge for me."

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh wrote an open letter to his team, stating, "I am asking you to consider what is at stake in your life. Consider what your thoughts, actions and choices mean to those around you. Live your life fully and with purpose."
