Skateboarding On The Tips Of Your Fingers

Brazilian skateboarder Bob Burnqist launches himself in the virtual world in a game for the iPhone.

One of the most famous skateboarders in the world Bob Burnquist is launching an iPhone game entitled Bob Burnquist’s Dreamland.

The Brazilian pro skater has won the X Games five times and is also known for designing his own skate ramps. He has five tracks and a mega ramp in his backyard, and this is precisely this scenario that is portrayed in the game.

Every action maneuvered with your fingers on the iPhone's screen represents a different trick Bob performs on his skateboard. Gameplay is divided into three categories, allowing you to take on the mega ramp, tracks with loops (doing somersaults on the skateboard), or verticals.

“It’s a game that [includes] everything from the skateboarding world, but even a child can play it. We want to reach a wide audience,” says Alexandre Souza, one of the partners of doubleleft, the company that developed the game. Also included in doubleleft’s portfolio is the iPhone and iPad game Garbageman, and Zook, a video conversation app for Facebook.

American skater Tony Hawk was a pioneer in launching skate games featuring his own name, with over ten titles to date. The latest iteration, Tony Hawk Shred, features a board that allows you to control skateboarding or snowboarding tricks with your feet. Take a look:
