In a rematch of last season's championship game, Kia Nurse was all about that bank.

UConn's junior guard led her team to the Sweet 16 of the women's NCAA tournament by scoring 29 points, 27 by way of the 3-ball, as she hit nine from behind the arc to lead the powerhouse Huskies to a convincing 94-64 victory over Syracuse.

Her ninth and final triple, a rare bank shot from long range, put UConn up 29 in the third quarter and tied her with Courtney Moses of Purdue—who hit nine 3-pointers in a first-round game in 2012—for the single-game tournament record.

Nurse, from Hamilton, Ontario, shot 10-for-13 on the night, including 9-for-12 from beyond the arc. Her performance helped extend the Huskies' obscene winning streak to 109 games, including 26 straight in the NCAA tournament for the four-time defending national champions who have also taken home six of the last eight tournament titles.

Aside from becoming an integral part of one of the biggest collegiate dynasties to ever hit the floor, Nurse has been a force representing her home country internationally as well. In 2015, she led Canada to a gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto and another gold at the FIBA Americas tournament less than a month later, which earned Canada a spot in the 2016 Rio Olympics, where the club finished seventh.

It's been quite a year across various sports for the Nurse family. Her hockey-playing brother, Darnell, has been an important piece of a resurgent Edmonton Oilers team that appears playoff bound for the first time since 2006.
