One day after Mike Moustakas hit a game-winning home run in the 11th inning to take the first game of the ALDS over the Angels, Eric Hosmer hit his own 11th-inning homer for a 2-0 series lead. Kansas City has played in, and won, three playoff games this year and they've all gone extra innings. The Royals beat Oakland in a 12-inning thriller Tuesday night and advanced to play the Angels on Thursday, where Moustakas gave them a second thrilling win. On Friday, Hosmer drilled the first pitch he saw from Kevin Jepsen for a 3-1 Royals lead, and they tacked on one more run on an infield single to make it 4-1. Greg Holland ended the game on a Mike Trout strikeout, making Friday's game the third straight extra-inning win for the Royals, who are making more history than just playing in their first postseason in nearly 30 years."The Royals are the first team to ever win three consecutive extra-innings postseason games and the first to even play three in a row since the Houston Astros and Philadelphia Phillies played four in a row in the 1980 NLCS. They are the first team to ever win consecutive extra-innings postseason games on home runs."If you don't have a dog in this fight, consider jumping on the Royals bandwagon. Kansas City can go for the sweep at home tomorrow and it's going to be a madhouse.
