This is very sad, but also maybe a little heartwarming. Vanderbilt narrowly avoided an upset to UMass with a late-game comeback, going up 34-31 with 1:08 left in the game. UMass then took the ball and drove to the Vandy four-yard line with two seconds left and readied for overtime, since a 22-yard field goal from Blake Lucas was all but academic. Except he missed. Badly. Vanderbilt won and Lucas probably wanted to crawl under a rock for the rest of his life. What better time for a hug?I like to think that Vanderbilt lineman Adam Butler immediately felt guilty about celebrating right in front of Lucas's face and decided to give him a hug to lift his spirits. Unfortunately, Lucas did not hug him back and looked exactly like a kid getting a hug from his mom in front of all his friends at school.[SI]
